New to the now saturated boat shoe scene is Oak Streeet Bootmakers with another take on the American classic. Oak Street designs their collection in Chicago and produces them in Maine because everyone knows that's where all boat shoes come from. These kicks definitely have some character but come with a hefty price tag @220/pair.
Also, the Persol 714--designed by Steve McQueen and seen in the classic "The Thomas Crown Affair" was just re-released. Figured I'd mention it since these shades have more character than those plastic neon sunglasses you won at Discovery Zone.
It's not really accurate to say "hefty price tag" when other shoes handmade in the US cost more than twice as much. Sure, they're more than Sperry, but that's like comparing Outback to Ruth's Chris.
ReplyDeleteTouche. However, I am a college student so cash flow is somewhat limited. You understand.
