Maker's 46

Whiskey. A man's drink. And now, a new top shelf Bourbon for your bold taste buds. In fact, the first new Bourbon from top shelf Maker's Mark in 52 years. Maker's 46 is created with a fully matured that is emptied and re-barreled for several more months. This stuff a spicier 94 proof bourbon with a tinge of caramel and vanilla. The most interesting man in the world doesn't always drink beer..

Lissie-Pursuit of Happiness cover

A pretty unique cover of one of the most well known Cudi tracks "Pursuit of Happiness".  Lissie's rendition takes lyrics that (in my opinion) would be difficult to cover interestingly. Either way, its hard not to like a cute blonde girl playing guitar singing a rap song..

From Lissie's website,

She was born in Rock Island, Illinois, one of the Quad Cities, on the banks of the Mississippi River. It’s the city that inspired Rock Island Line, and that bore Bix Beiderbecke, it’s the stuff of spring floods and pick-up trucks and bona fide blue collar country music. “I think that people often want to focus on that side of me,” Lissie says, “But it wasn’t like we were all sitting on the porch having a hootenanny writing the album; I grew up listening to gangsta rap just like millions of other American teenagers. There are many sounds and experiences that have influenced and inspired my music.”

When BP Spills Coffee

It is hard to believe, but it has been over two months since BP's Deepwater Horizon exploded and sank causing a massive oil well to spew thousands of gallons of oil a day into the Gulf of Mexico. With Americans becoming increasingly frustrated with the containment efforts, some have decided to strip naked, making complete asses of themselves (no pun intended).

I'll admit that I'm a little frustrated myself because it seems as though BP is completely incompetent, but I'm also realistic about what people can do to actually help the issue. Such as donating to the Sea Bird Sanctuary or volunteering. With the realization that this will achieve nothing, I hope these people will lighten up, put some damn clothes on, and go home to watch this sketch by UCBComedy:

Music+Europe=LA BLOGOTHEQUE

So, you may or may not have seen the video of Vampire Weekend playing in a courtyard in France for the Les Concerts a Emporter series. If you haven't it is awesome and you should youtube it. However, there are some other notable performances by Refinity favorites like Fleet Foxes, Yeasayer, Andrew Bird, Bon Iver, and Phoenix over at LA BLOGOTHEQUE.

Todos los conciertos

The coolest aspect about these unique short films is each band plays their songs stripped down and in random places across Europe and America. Sick scenery and footage.

Justin Vernon's got pipes..don't miss the babe around 2 minutes

On a side note...Here is an awesome song to kick it to this summer by Two Door Cinema Club.

J. Cole- Who Dat

J. Cole is an up-and-coming rapper with the same back-to-the-basics appeal as the likes of Wale and Kid Cudi. "Who Dat" gives recognition to his emergence on the scene as he denounces the current rap game in favor of fresh, original lyrics.

Breakbot- Baby I'm Yours (feat. Irfane)

Breakbot's "Baby I'm Yours is a quite a groovy tune and the video to go with it is pretty cool as well...

Last.fm says

"Breakbot is signed to Ed Banger Records. He is an awesome sexy Frenchman who makes electronic, mainly breakbeat-orientated music that doesn’t bang to please. It floats along collecting bass, synths and other awesome noises to make you gleefully wag your head from side to side. Perfect music for walking, dancing sensually and chatting it up with friends! Toast the good times with Breakbot"

The Big Pink- Dominos

This London- based rock group delivers a hard hitting bassline coupled with a generous helping of fuzzy reverb to accomplish a very appealing sound in "Dominos". From the recent album A Brief History of Love. I can definitely see why they are opening some shows for Muse with their stadium electro rock anthem sound. I doubt many DJs out there would know this one if you requested it, but perhaps they should.

The Sound of Summer: AudioDax

Here's a group you haven't heard of from two Depauw University students from the good old Midwest. They're called AudioDax and they've recently released some new songs, two of which are "Matter of Time" and "All the Koalas".  I really like what they're doing here. A perfect blend of electronic synth beats and laid back rap lyrics for that summer drive. Their concept/sound reminds me of one of my recent favorites Chiddy Bang.

Winnebago Man Documentary

"We get any more yelling around here today and the shit is gonna hit the fan"

Many of you have probably heard of, seen, and/or recited the infamous angry Winnebago salesman video on Youtube. It's one of the classics. Well, someone decided it would be a good idea to make a documentary on the man behind the legend. Winnebago Man is due out in theaters on July 9th.

For anyone that hasn't seen the original...

And now, the trailer...

iPhone 4

Apple does it again. Not that we didn't know when it was coming or even what it looked like. But the brand spanking new iPhone 4 is now officially unveiled. New features include an improved resolution (best for any phone on the market), HD video capabilities, two cameras, and a gyroscope that enhances gaming. I'll be watching my Apple stock price climb once more once this baby takes off (available June 24th)...but Steve, can we get a Verizon version soon please?

Bloc Party-Signs (MMMatthias Remix)

This one has been around a little while, but great remixes don't have expiration dates.

1963 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40

Right now, as we speak, a beautiful classic blue 1963 Land Cruiser FJ40 is on Ebay waiting to be purchased at the low Buy It Now price of $4900. Of course you'll have to find a way to transport it from northern California, but this is still a great deal because as far as I can tell this Land Cruiser has been completely rebuilt with little improvements needed. The opportunity to own such a great classic 4X4 at such a low price doesn't come around too often..so snatch this one up before its too late.

Where Is My Mind-The Pixies (Bassnectar Remix)

The original is more than often better than the remix, but sometimes the remix needs a little recognition. Bassnectar does their little dubstep thing to make this Pixies classic a little more dance worthy.

F1 Flight Dopp Kit

A dopp kit is not really something that crosses my mind on a day to day basis, but at the same time it is an essential item that I use for every trip I take. Sure, dopp kits are not made for form but rather function....but why not have one that covers both bases?

$36 from Flight001

P.S. I wish I was alive and flying in the good ol' days....

Timex 1600 Watch

There is something about a dark leather watch band that makes a watch so much more desirable in my opinion. Sure, there are occasions, formal occasions, when the leather band may not be appropriate, but for the most part I think leather is more versatile---not to mention the old school swagger that a watch such as this emanates.

Mumford and Sons

Mumford and Sons is a group from London that writes catchy acoustic guitar driven tracks with a hint of bluegrass folk.

Mumford and Sons- The Cave

Mumford and Sons- Little Lion Man

Bye Bye Blackbird- Pure

Much in the same euphoria as Delorean, Bye Bye Blackbird holds a steady harpish beat in "Pure". Sounds a little like a summer daydream.

Strand Craft 122 Yacht

Obviously this is a bit out of my price range, but I think this Strand Craft yacht is something worth mentioning. Especially if you are a bad guy from a James Bond movie and are looking for your next yacht to hang out with your henchmen on.  And look, you can keep the included matching 800 hp sports car in the that cool little garage area in the stern. How convenient.
